This exhibit focuses around the iconography using animals from the Middle Ages. In particular, in both Christian and Islamic contexts, animals appear to symbolize a variety of ideas and themes, and so this curation seeks to understand some of these themes. In many ways, these animals also symbolize the transition of ideas from Eastern to Western cultures, and so many of these objects will reveal the impact that the Islamic World had on shaping European ideas.
